Better act fast as only 300 cars will be made.
Khodrocar - It was the summer of 1988 when BMW M decided to chop off the roof of a car to create a high-performance convertible and now Bavarians are in a festive mood to celebrate the anniversary. Meet the new BMW M4 Convertible Edition 30 Jahre, which follows other anniversary models such as last year’s 7 Series, 2016’s M3, and 2014’s M5.

Limited to just 300 cars, the new special edition M4 Convertible comes nicely equipped with the M Competition Package and lots of other M goodies, such as an adaptive suspension, exhaust system, and an active differential. In addition, the biturbo inline-six 3.0-liter engine has been dialed to 450 horsepower (331 kW) thanks to the very same package.

Beyond the extra hardware installed as standard, the BMW M4 Convertible Edition 30 Jahre gets a few visual tweaks as a nod to its ancestor from three decades ago. For example, the Macao Blue metallic paint is a nod to the model’s source of inspiration, while the Mandarin II uni hue resembles the Dakar Yellow shade offered back in the day for the second-gen M3 Convertible. Regardless of the one you go for, the open-air M4 gets a shiny black look on the kidney grille, side gills, and the model lettering, while the 20-inch wheels are finished in Orbit Grey with a matte look.

Once you’re inside, the fancy M4 Convertible greets you with a full Merino leather trim in a finish color-coordinated with the car’s body. The door sills are adorned with the "30 Jahre Edition” lettering and there’s a signet on the dashboard, in front of the passenger, which says "30 Jahre Edition” and contains the number "1/300” denoting the model’s limited availability.

BMW has not disclosed any pricing details, nor has it mentioned in which markets it will sell the car.
