Khodrocar - Numbers are all around us – whether we're breaking down the performance of a Ferrari 488, or comparing the price of a Model S to a Mercedes. Every week we pick out a few numbers that are so significant we have to give them a second look. Today we’re looking at key figures from Ford, McLaren, and Mazda.

The time, in minutes and seconds, that it took the Ford GT to lap Virginia International Raceway in Car and Driver’s testing. That makes it the fastest lap time that the publication has ever recorded at the track – an impressive achievement for the American supercar.

How much extra downforce, in pounds, is generated by the new rear wing on the MSO X 570S. It’s a special-edition version of the McLaren 570S, limited to ten copies, inspired by the GT4 racing car.

The percentage by which Mazda believes its new SkyActiv-X engine technology could reduce fuel consumption. The engines will use gasoline compression ignition, extracting more power while using less fuel than the company’s existing SkyActiv-G engines.

The number of minutes under which Camaro chief engineer Al Oppenheiser wants a Camaro to lap the famous Nürburgring. "We think there’s more in it. We’re gonna keep tinkering around with it,” he recently told Hagerty. "Wouldn’t it be cool to see a Camaro under 7:00 at the Nürburgring? I’d like to see it."
