Khodrocar - Numbers are all around us – whether we're breaking down the performance of a Ferrari 488, or comparing the price of a Model S to a Mercedes. Every week we pick out a few numbers that are so significant we have to give them a second look. Today we’re looking at key figures from Hennessey, Ford, Shelby.
The displacement, in liters, of the biturbocharged V8 engine planned for the Hennessey Venom F5. Limited to just 24 units, the extra car is expected to have 1,600 horsepower and a top speed of 300 miles per hour. All for $1.6 million apiece.
The price, in dollars, of the new Shelby 1000. The Ford Mustang-based car will be limited to just 50 units annually, will boast 1,000 hp under the hood, and has all-new bodywork developed by Shelby American. Oh, plus, various handling and braking upgrades. Hence the massive price tag.
The production milestone Lamborghini recently hit for the Huracan. That’s an impressive feat. The Aventador, which is more expensive but has been on sale for three years longer than the Huracan, has accumulated 7,000 sales.
Without a shadow of a doubt, electric vehicles will eventually become the norm in the automotive industry and this new wide EV charging network provides a taste of things to come. Rarely so many car manufacturers get together to jointly develop such a large project that will kick off with an initial batch of 20 fast-charging stations scheduled to be operational by the end of the year. That number is projected to grow to around 400 until 2020.
