Every week we pick out a few numbers that are so significant we have to give them a second look. Today we’re looking at key figures from Porsche, Peugeot, and Ford.

The amount of horsepower on offer from the Peugeot L570R Hybrid Vision Gran Turismo. OK, so it’s "just” a virtual video-game car, but its specifications are impressive: 580 horsepower from a gas engine that spins to 10,000 rpm, another 170 hp from an electric motor, and just 1,818 pounds of mass make for a 2.4-second sprint to 62 miles per hour.

By how much, in percent, the fuel economy of the 2018 Ford Mustang increases over last year’s car. A new automatic transmission, engine tweaks, and improved aerodynamics all play a role in boosting the Mustang’s EPA ratings to as much as 32 miles per gallon highway.

How many different engine choices the forthcoming BMW Z4 is rumored to offer. We were already expect a 2.0-liter turbo engine and a 3.0-liter turbo mill, but the latest info indicates the latter may be offered in two outputs: 335 hp in the base model and up to 385 hp in the beefier Z4 M40i.
