In the previous report, the route of the Iranian and South Korean car industry was compared and the process of establishing Iranian car companies was examined. In this report, we have examined the variety of products and the efforts of Iranian companies to produce products, and at the same time, we have taken a look at the new policies of South Korea in the field of development of the parts industry.
Khodrocar - Kia started the production of a three-wheeled van when its production had started 4 years ago in Iran. In 1345, the Iranian company Citroen was knocked down. The company was owned by an Armenian Lebanese named Antoine Aise.

Aise chose the D 6, 2 cylinder car, which was a Citroen product, for production in Iran. This cheap car, which took the name of Jian in Iran, was marketed by Citroen long ago to compete with the Volkswagen Beetle or Frog, but its low price, simple mechanical structure and durability made this car in Iran should be welcomed by the weak class of society.

At this time, Ahmad Khayami, the owner of Iran Nacional, was looking for a passenger car to be produced in Iran. He participated in car shows in Europe and negotiated with Volkswagen, Benz, Fiat, Peugeot, Renault and Ford. He was looking for a car that could meet the needs of the middle class of Iranian society. A class that did not have the money to buy expensive and imported luxury cars and did not want to ride Jian.

He eventually agreed with a British company called Talbot, a subsidiary of Rhodes Automotive. The company, which was on the verge of bankruptcy, had produced a sedan that was marketed under the names of Hillman Hunter and Rhodes Arrow.

The Hillman Hunter assembly line, which was named Peykan in Iran, was quickly equipped and opened on May 13, 1967. This year, two models of Peykan Carlos and Deluxe with 1725 cc engine were offered to the market with a price of 17 thousand Tomans.

The entry of Peykan and Jian into the domestic market of Iran met the needs of the low-income and middle class, so Jafar Akhavan, CEO of Jeep Joint Stock Company, thought of producing a car for the rich and affluent Iranian class. Based on this, the Brotherhood went to the United States and was able to get the right to produce Rambler cars from American Motors. Rambler was introduced in 1346 in two models called Shahin as a basic model and Aria as a model with features such as air conditioner and automatic transmission.

The softness and quietness of this car along with good power made it welcomed by consumers. Along with these two cars, Jafar Akhavan also launched a luxury long-wheelbase model of the Jeep company called Wagner under the name of Jeep Ahoo.

The year 1346 was not a decisive year only for the Iranian car industry. Hyundai Motors was founded in South Korea this year. The company was founded by a wealthy Korean named Chang Joyang. He previously worked with Hyundai in the field of construction and metal industry after negotiations with Ford Company after the support of the South Korean government in the automotive industry, and he obtained their agreement to produce products in Korea, and Hyundai Company He founded Motors.

He launched several models of Ford cars under the Hyundai brand this year. The South Korean government, which felt it had taken the first step in creating the country's auto industry, began implementing the second part of its policies in this area.

During this period, the Korean government focused on strengthening the parts industry, and according to the new policies of car companies, in order to use incentive packages and enjoy tax exemptions, the major parts they imported from abroad must be imported within three years.

According to these standards, it was only possible to produce modern model cars that were being produced in the country of origin at the same time, and the assembly of cars whose production had stopped was prohibited.

At the same time, Kia started production of the second generation of Mazda Familia under the name of Kia Brisa. Apart from this company, Kia also produced a pickup from Mazda products called Kia Boxer and for the first time was able to export some of them to Qatar.

In the first half of the 1950s, the American company General Motors entered the Iranian and South Korean markets almost simultaneously. In South Korea, Xinjin Motor Company, which previously assembled several Toyota products, had a dispute with the Japanese company. Toyota refused to accept the Korean government's policy of investing in parts in South Korea. Xin Jin will end his partnership with Toyota and move to General Motors.

General Motors bought a stake in Xinjin and changed the company's name to General Motors Korea. South Korea Motors first introduced one of Holden's Australian brand models, the Turana, to the South Korean market under the new Chevrolet 1700. .

Around the same time, General Motors agreed to Jafar Akhavan's request to produce its products in Iran. This American company bought 45% of the shares of Jeep Joint Stock Company and established a new company called General Motor Iran with a capital of 150 million Tomans.

After these developments, the production of Rambler products or Aria and Shahin in Iran was stopped and the production of the third generation of Opel Record replaced it. This car with the name of Chevrolet Iran and Royal with two engines of 2500 and 2800 cc was introduced to the Iranian market.

Putting the Chevrolet name on Opel Record was due to the good mentality of Iranian consumers of Chevrolet cars, so that in the first year of production, 7,000 units of this car were sold in Iran.

Production of other cars began in the early 1950s. Gulf Industries Company, which previously produced Mazda tricycles in Iran, was able to obtain the approval of Japan's Mazda Company to produce its products in Iran.

The Iranian company Citroen produced a new model of the popular Jian car called Jian Mahari. Apart from this, the production of Aka van was stopped and replaced by Jian Pickup. Iran National Company also introduced a new model of Peykan called Peykan Jovanan. This car uses an 1800 cc engine with two carburetors.
