Mohammad Reza Sheikh Attar, Director of Rail and Automotive Industries Development of the Industrial Development and Renovation Organization of Iran, in an interview with Khodrocar, stressed that the electric car project in car companies is progressing and the government will be in charge in this regard. "According to the government's plan, 15,000 hybrid and electric vehicles will be delivered to the public fleet this year, but since the process of designing and developing the product of both automakers has not been completed, it certainly seems unlikely that this will happen.”
"Definitely, these cars will enter the market in the coming years. Regarding the infrastructure of these cars, two design companies, NPD and Eric, are currently working in this field and have a well-known mechanism, and the batteries of these cars are also available. Fully supplied through imports.” He said.
"Components such as drives and EMS are being designed and manufactured by in-house manufacturers. CBU, CKD and SKD will definitely go through these in-house manufacturing processes and go through the process.” He said.
"The electric vehicle project defined in the two domestic automakers is being pursued, the K132 project as well as the SP100 electrification project are among the electrification projects in the domestic automakers.” He continued.
This statement comes at a time when Farshad Moghimi, CEO of Iran Khodro, recently stated that in the field of electric vehicles, a document and roadmap have been approved in Iran Khodro to cooperate with Mapna Group in the framework of improving technical knowledge and increasing productivity. Because the investments made and the existing capacities in Mapna Company, make Irankhodro use this opportunity to travel faster to produce an electric car and by using these capacities, the puzzle of domestic electric car production will be completed quickly.
