Khodrocar - According to one of the provisions of the Fifth Development Plan Act, transport companies can import vehicles for up to three years to upgrade their fleet. A clause that has been approved many times in the past few years and is an example of it in the same days of 2016.
During that period, according to forecasts, the import of each truck is subject to scrapping, at least one truck that has been in production for more than 25 years and its capacity can be up to three tons less than the capacity of the imported truck.
It was determined, but the transport companies used the government's tariff and bought the cars that had been working for 3 years and handed them over to the driver in Syrian and without a contract, while their installments were paid by the driver, but the truck was named after the company. .
In these contracts, there was practically no letter of promise and document because it was not possible to transfer the document for at least 6 years, so this flow of windfall benefited the transportation companies, and despite the country's need to import these cars, it happened in practice. It didn't happen. Now, 4 years after this date, this decree will be enforceable again and its executive steps will be taken from Saturday.
In the new decision for the demolition of the truck, after the approval of the Highways and Road Transportation Organization, the commercial profit of the imported truck will be reduced by 25% by the customs of the Islamic Republic of Iran. This decision comes at a time when the modernization of the fleet of heavy vehicles has been delayed with the recent departure of foreign partners in the automotive industry, and on the other hand, the price of this category of cars has skyrocketed. They oppose the decision and believe that it will not benefit the country.
"Due to the high traffic of these cars, their spare parts need to be replaced and in general, buying them is not economical. In addition, these vehicles must have after-sales service and obtain the approval of the National Standards Organization of Iran, but proving and obtaining the same standards will be very costly for car owners. He believes that the import of these trucks has no economic function and is not in the interest of the country.” Ahmad Nemat Bakhsh, secretary of auto makers association told khodrocar reporter.
Emphasizing the dangers of importing second-hand trucks, automakers say Europeans have closed the way to manufacturers and opened up to importers, and despite the sanctions, they are not benefiting and continue to sell their used goods to us. In this situation, car manufacturers are not in the same situation as competing with these manufacturers, which is why the production of Iranian heavy vehicles has fallen from 12,000 to about 3,000 units per year, and projects such as fleet modernization have been postponed.
It remains to be seen in the new round of implementation of this resolution, what control strategies will be seen to prevent speculation, and will the Roads Organization implement the necessary supervision by anticipating the control strategies?
