the sudden exit of French companies from Iran's auto indsutry is not a new story but while the minister f Industry is saying that after sanctions they don't have a place among Iran's partner is making a question that while all infrastructures for presence of these companies have been made, can we change the partners?
Khodrocar - Reza Rahmani's insistence on Iran not cooperating again with Peugeot and Renault, while in recent years has spent a lot of money updating and aligning Iranian automobile production lines with the standards of French companies. It makes it somewhat difficult, and perhaps one of the main reasons for the return of the French automakers to the French.

"The automotive industry should not be held hostage by its foreign partner, the French, and perhaps because fewer foreign partners have been in Iran in recent years than the French, the old presence of Peugeot and Citroen in Iran and their familiarity with these companies. It has been Iranian business, so when it came to producing a joint platform between Iran Khodro and Saipa, only Renault was willing to partner." Saeed Madani, expert of auto industry tod khodrocar reporter.

"Peugeot's experience has warned the French that they can trust Iran, and since Renault had designed a long-term plan to produce cheap cars around the world and implemented it in other countries, Implementing this program in Iran is also a good idea for the automobile industry, as it depends on a foreign country for the automobile industry as they leave the country in poor conditions." he added.

"Undoubtedly, due to the investments made, they will not be able to leave Iran, as well as the production lines of Iranian automakers are equipped with French technology and taste, but their role in the future must be reduced in order to be able to other automotive work." He said.

"The fact is that we are having trouble collaborating with foreign carmakers and there are a lot of missing links in this collaboration so we now have to gradually move towards designing internal platforms to reduce our dependence on carmakers around the world. Design, engineering, gearboxes and motors to work with Iran based on designs provided by domestic automakers." He said.

"We can define the production plan based on the 50-50 plan with foreign partners and gradually increase the domestic production rate to 80% with the development of domestic platforms because if the platform is designed and the dependence on overseas is reduced, the bargaining power with the foreign ones will increase" He talked.

"We need to look for alternatives and activate internal and external platforms, while keeping in mind that moving to other manufacturers under sanctions is also a hindrance, with the two old companies Renault and Peugeot. They do not allow other carmakers to enter Iran, so moving on to other carmakers will make them a competitor and reduce the capacity to 10% to 15% over time." He said.
These statements suggest that the best strategy for working with external partners is to reduce dependency and design and build an internal platform so that there is no disruption in the production process.
