About 2 months ago vehicle importation baned which was a shocking news for everyone involved in this industry. Now after 60 days the condition of registered cars is unclear and importers are suffering loss a lot.
Khodrocar - it has been 2 months since the last decision of the minister of industry has changed the fate of vehicle importers and whom bought imported cars. Official importers pre-sale cars to customers but they couldn't deliver cars to them due to the sanctions and suffered losses.
Although America's sanctions are additional problem but why the importation baned while 35 days were remaining till the start of sanctions? Now what will happen to the customers who paid for their cars and how importers can refund the money to customers again?
Iran's custom has announced an instruction in order to stop clearence of all of illegal imported vehicles but even official imported vehicles are counting among the illegals.
"Two days ago, the government instruction clearly said that importers shall pay the difference in 42000 IRRs currency. Taking the difference is religiously illegal because they decided after purchasing and before selling so this will harm the customer." Member of vehicle importation association told khodrocar reporter.
" During the last year any bad things has happened to the importers and they suffered a lot and they really against the law of taking the currency difference." He said. "With every governmental decision it's importers job to answer the customers and it is a bad situation for them."
It said that importers are trying to refund the money from the major company but they are not taking cars back because some of them has produced cars specially for Iran's market.
