Khodrocar - The Mercedes GT Roadster boasts of 476 hp of power and 630Nm of torque, going from naught to 100kmph in four seconds. The soft top fabric roof comes with three colour options and opens and closes in 11 seconds.


It is however the Mercedes GT R which is the highlight as it recently became the fastest production car at the Buddh International Circuit - completing a lap in 2.09.853 minutes.

With 4.0-litre V8 bi-turbo engine producing 585hp of power and 700Nm of torque, thesportscar reaches triple-digit speeds from stationary in 3.6 seconds. It has a top-speed of 318kmph.


Active rear-wheel steering, large rear aerofoil and a new rear fascia, and AMG Ride Control sports suspension, traction control, lightweight AMG performance 10-twin-spoke forged lightweight wheels and carbon-fibre roof are some of the other major highlights of the GT R.

Both the GT Roadster and the GT R feature a new Panamericana grille and have a seven-speed sports transmission.

Speaking at the launch, Roland Folger - MD and CEO at Mercedes Benz India, said that the objective is to have AMG as the preferred performance brand in the country.


"We now have 12 AMG products in India.Our average customer age here is 37. The AMG GT R and GT Roadster will combine driving dynamics of AMG GT3 and everyday practicality of the AMG GT," he said.
