18 SUVs could be at risk of a fuel leak.
Khodrocar - Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) has issued a recall for the 2018 'KL' Cherokee equipped with the 2.4-litre petrol engine over concerns a faulty fuel tube could cause a leak.

According to Jeep, affected vehicles may be fitted with an "incorrectly manufactured" fuel tube, which may result in a fuel leak and "potentially a subsequent engine compartment fire".

If the condition occurs, a fire could result in burns or smoke inhalation injuries to occupants and/or bystanders. A fuel leak could also cause the vehicle to lose power and shut down without warning, posing an accident hazard.

There are 18 units affected by this recall – a VIN list can be viewed here.

Owners of the recalled SUVs will be contacted by FCA Australia when replacement parts become available, which is expected to be in June 2018. When contacted,  consumers will be advised to schedule an inspection and repair with their local dealer.
