Based on Khodrocar journalist, it was almost 6 years ago that the government defined a plan for the production of hybrid and electric vehicles based on which the production of 2 million of such vehicles were imagined but the Tenth government did not show any support to put this plan into action.
After the Eleventh government started to perform, the Minister of Industry, Mining and Trade announced that a supportive package had been collected so it might help the process of producing electric vehicles to speed up in Iran. But after 2 years this package has not been approved yet.
"This package is still being studied yet no final conclusion was achieved.” Said Amirhossayn Ghenaati, the Automotive section Manager of the Ministry of Industry, Mining and Trades to Khodrocar journalist.
While automotive industry of the world is letting go of the internal combustion engines, back in Iran major cities are in serious need of green vehicle due to extreme weather pollution, yet there is nothing heard about the needed infrastructures for such vehicles. Saipa recently announced that it intends to produce the electric version of Tiba model, so now this might make the politicians to do something about the neede infrastructures.
