B30 is the new product built by FAW, the first Chinese car manufacturer and recently launched by Bahman Motors and is now under production in Iran. The Brand FAW is better known by the elegance and popularity of its previous model in Iran known as B50F. Yet the B30 will not come any shorter than its brother when it comes to capabilities.
Khodrocar - B30 is a compact sedan and the latest vehicle introduced by Bahman Motors for the market below 600 Million IRR which a notable choice is considering its technical and quality specifications.
The platform is based on the VW’s famous platform that leaded to VW Jetta and Bora. The monocoque structure of the body is made out of what is known as 3H pattern which shapes the vehicle’s bottom end, sides and the roof along with a combination of ultra-strength steel which finally makes the whole cockpit of the vehicle making it safe for passengers in case of emergencies. Other safety features of the B30 includes the ESC, ABS, BA, EDB, TSC and HHC as well, no surprise why B30 could make 5 stars out of C-NCAP’s crash tests.
B30 is compact yet beautiful and chick in style. At the very same time it is roomy inside with a large 480 liter trunk more than all other competitors like Brilliance H330 with 460 liter of trunk space as the largest trunk space among competitors. Therefore B30 is a good choice for small families and domestic trips.
B30’s heart is a 1.6 liter chain drive DOHC I4 naturally aspirated unit producing 107 HP and 155 N.M although slightly but powerful than most of its rivals. The chain drive valvetrain mechanism increases durability and reduces maintenance cost and effort throughout the long run. The smart choice of FAW for the B30’s pure power usage was to choose all electric steering system not to waste even half a horse power running the steering system. At the same time matching the engine with a synchronized 6 speed Automatic gearbox from the Japanese made Aisin and not those that are domestically produced in China by the very same name.
Compering the gearbox with other competitors’ CVT (as in Lifan X50), AMT (as in Brilliance H200 Series) and those low variable gearings (as 4 speed ATs in Brilliance H300 Series), this very 6 speed AT is providing the engine better ratios all driving time reducing the fuel consumption yet acting smart when a down shift is needed.
Segment based, B30 is leveled with rivals such as the Brilliance H320 and BYD f3, but price based it will face Lifan X50 and DFM H30 Cross as well. It is not as easy to point at B30 as the best choice among its competitors because buyers’ factors are widely different and they purchase base on their needs. Yet considering B30’s capabilities with the specific price of 58.460 million IRR, it is one of the top vehicle of choice in its segment.
