It will be holding hands in Geneva with the "500" family in the new Mirror special series.
Khodrocar - Hot on the heels of yesterday’s unveiling of the Abarth 124 GT, Fiat has also found a way to spice up the Mazda-built Italian droptop by revealing the fancy S-Design specification. Also heading to the 2018 Geneva Motor Show, the new flavor for the 124 Spider joins the already available Tipo and 500X S-Design models and comes along with an assortment of styling enhancements.

Goodies include a polished steel look for the roll bar, side mirror caps, and front pillar, along with exclusive 17-inch wheels, and a tri-color badge at the back depicting the Italian flag. Fiat and Mopar will also slap on a decorative red strip along the sides of the car to make it worth your while. Being a higher specification of the 124 Spider, it means the S-Design comes nicely equipped with automatic climate control, leather seats and steering wheel, keyless go, dual chrome exhaust, and the active hood lift system.

At the heart of the Fiat 124 Spider S-Design is the same turbocharged 1.4-liter gasoline engine with 140 horsepower and 240 Newton-meters (177 pound-feet) of torque. The four-cylinder mill can be hooked up to either a six-speed manual gearbox or an automatic transmission. If you want outright performance, the manual is the one to get as it enables the model to hit 62 mph (100 kph) from a standstill in 7.5 seconds whereas the auto-equipped version is a tenth of a second slower. Top speed is also slightly higher with the manual (215 kph / 134 mph vs 214 kph / 133 mph).

Fiat will be showing off in Geneva the 500X and Tipo hatchback in the S-Design trim, along with the new 500 Mirror family encompassing the regular version, as well as the bigger 500L and the crossover-ized 500X. The new "500” series focuses on technology and comes with a 7-inch Uconnect infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay integration, while Mopar Connect is also available to combine remote assistance services and control functions.

On demand, buyers can add TomTom 3D navigation and a rear parking camera, but the latter is only available for the 500X and 500L. If you go for the crossover, Fiat will be more than happy to paint it in the new two-tone Venezia Blue shade with a matte grey roof exclusive to this model. The regular 500 Mirror hasn’t been neglected as it’s also getting a fresh color, dubbed Azzurro Italia, and will be joined in Geneva by the 500X Mirror finished in a new matte Jeans Blue livery.

Additional details about each car can be found in the attached press release.
