He told Khodrocar jornalist about the low production volume of Peugeot 2008: "More than 200 car have been produced and IKAP promised to increase their volume production.”

Salehinia also told about the car contracts: "Saipa and Citroen are preparing the production lines. In addition, Volkswagen and Mammut first agreed to produce cars in Iran but the German company first decided to analyze the market. But with the challenges created to vehicle imports, Volkswagen changed its point of view.”

He added: "The Renault contract is finalized and IDRO will announce the production Schedule."

He told about the new 85-step car production standards which has been criticized: "Some criticisms are correct because some of these standards are additional and some of them are not possible to run because the lack of infrastructure in Iran.”
